Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get my video?

A completed wedding video usually takes between 4-6 weeks to complete. Sometimes we get them done sooner, and sometimes we may need an extra week or two, depending on the time of year and how busy we are.

How soon should you book your video?

Summer months fill up quickly. It is not uncommon for people to book 6 months to a year in advance, but don't let that stop you from checking with us.

Why shouldn't I just have my uncle shoot the wedding on his video camera?

There's a couple reasons why you might not want to do that. 1. Your uncle may want to actually "enjoy" your wedding day and not have to work it. 2. Your uncle might not have the quality equipment and know-how to edit and produce a quality video - one that you will cherish forever. If your budget can't fit a professional videographer in it, then by all means - you should have your uncle shoot it. Because 20 years from now, you won't have your flowers, your DJ or your limousine....but a video lasts a lifetime. You'll regret not having one later in your marriage! Don't you want to show your kids what your wedding day was like?

How do I book Wilkerson Studios?

All we require is a non-refundable 25% deposit to book your wedding.

Do you travel outside of Decatur?

Yes we do. We have travelled as far as Chicago and St. Louis. However, we do charge $0.50 per mile, for any weddings that are more than 45 minutes outside of Decatur. If your wedding is more than a couple of hours away and you require us to be there late into the reception, we would also require a hotel room be paid for. For weddings in Champaign, Springfield and Bloomington, no mileage and no hotel room would be required.

Why aren't you in the Decatur Bridal Expo?

We used to be. One day we decided to add photography to our services and we were told we could not display our photography at our booth. Even though we had been loyal to the expo for years, they would not allow us to display our photography because they have a "limit" on the number of vendors for each category. So we dropped out of it. You need to keep this in mind when visiting the Decatur Bridal Expo. Since they only allow a certain number of vendors per category, and it's "first come, first served," that means you only get to see a glimpse of the talent that is in Decatur. There are quite a few photographers and videographers and other great businesses that will not be at that expo for this reason. Don't let the expo make you think that's all there is in Decatur!
